It was raining cats and dogs when we landed in Denver today....had to wait about an hour at Advantage Rent-A-Car before we could get our car.
we got a black Suzuki XL-7.

Traffic was pretty light on Interstate 70, stopped in Idaho Springs for a Burger and a Fat Tire Ale(pretty good stuff)

Went through the Eisenhower Tunnel then drove downhill for about an hour.

Staying in Carbondale tonight, about 10 miles from the start.

>>HERE<<

Registration, Tech inspection , orientation, and a cookout tomorrow

The day turned out to be a perfect day!  Sunny and in the 60's!

Went through registration, picked up some goodies and blew a 94 at the sound test.

Jetting is interesting, I set my bike up for +9000' and it has a slight hesitation when you whack the throttle. We're at 6000' today, tomorrow it will see 13,000'

Great Lunch and a great dinner served at the start.

I put some more pics on MVTR.org

Ended the day in a hottub at Snowmass

Started out with a 325 dirtbike parade through Basalt, CO lead by the local sherrif.

Shortly after that I got separated from my group and ended up following another group into Aspen.

From there we went up the slopes of a rather upscale ski resort and over the summit. For the next 10 - 15 miles we cruised at around 12,000 feet until we got to Taylor Pass...went down some really tight single tracks from there , saw a guy on a Kawasaki launch his bike down the hill from an off-camber goat path.

Rode down a trail called "slimey" , cought up to my group there, and then took a rode some more single track trails...

had a great lunch at some place in the middle of nowhere then rode off to the "spur" trail...this was a nasty 24 mile single track trail at high elevation.

left Spur and finished the day on Dead Man's Gorge.....this has switchbacks that go on for ever.

Staying in Crested Butte (crusty butt) tonight.

Today we rode from Crested Butte to Ouray,,,,,170 miles total.

Started out with a long road ride, then a long dirt road, and then had to ride through a heard of cattle and into the woods. Spent the next hour or so riding some great "two track" trails through woods and through the desert  passing an occasional ranch or two.

Stopped for gas and then lunch sponsord by Team Green.

Got back on the road for another long road section, avoiding a powdery section while at it. We did another incredible "two track" section followed by a variety of woods roads going though the mountains.

Stopped for gas in Lake City then headed up Engineer's pass (elevation 12,800) and down Enginnerr's gulch.
From there we went to Ouray.

Thanks for the photos Art!
Sounds like a great ride!

Those road sections are probably giving you monkey butt...not enough moving around and off the seat.

Long day today....165 miles

Started the day off with another trip to Engineer Pass then off to Cinnamon Pass before heading back to Crested Butte.  Hit alot of Jeep roads today followed by some "A-Enduro" trails (the graveyard trail).....another trip through Powderhorn before a very long road section, we did this to avoid the dusty desert.  A quick lunch at Subway and off to Ohio pass and into Crested Butte.

Pictures on MVTR.org lator tonight
