I need to replace the fork seals on my Beta Rev3. Is this somethng I can do myself? I am pretty good with tools and mechanical stuff, and I have done a top end on a MX bike before. Think I can pull it off?

Yes, check out the instructions on Ryan Young's Sherco site for the Paoli forks. You'll need a "special" tool. Basically a length of PVC conduit from Home Depot to use as a seal driver. You will have to drop the fork tubes from the triple clamps to install the seals. I'll post more details later.

General info on fork seal replacement can be found Here. (note - for GG forks but I believe it is applicable)

Here's the PDF link for sherco's seal replacement:

The only problem may be tightening the screw in the bottom of the fork leg. It's a snap with an air gun, but a bee-ach without.
If you don't have air tools, I recommend taking them to your local friendly garage after they are completely reassembled and having someone give it a quick 'blip-blip' with the air wrench just to be sure.

to prevent that bolt at the bottom of the fork from spinning pull hard on the upper fork tube as if you are trying to extend the fork

I usually put the forks altogether and in the bike, strap it down, and completely compress the forks with a tie down. But even still, I am not super happy unless I can zap it with an air gun......wait a minute........
I think I just realized the flaw in my system, compressing doesn't put a load on that bolt, does it? DUH! I'll try your idea next time!
