Hi, Dave A. here. We just got back from Andorra Monday night. Wow What a place! Spectactular! The girls did great, considering the bikes were different from what they were used to, the altitude was about 3000 meters and the terrain was STEEP! The sections were a mixture of NETA advanced level to some that were NETA Expert level. There was no trials etiquette like in the states. You have to push your way into the start gate, the most agressive wins. One of the Canadian women riders had some words with one of the French riders which almost got out of hand. They had 15 sections with 2 loops up the mountain. They take the best 2 rides out of the 3 riders. This worked out great as one rider would do badly the others seemed to score well to knock out the low score. The first group of sections were simular to Exeter's rocks with more vegatation, the others on a steep hillside, rocky stream, top of the summit with section 15, a manmade section at the paddock area. We had to ride the 25 mile men's loop on Sunday as minders for the men. I have to say it was one of the most difficult loop trails I have ever ridden. Single track across steep slopes. Goat path climbs up steep mountain cliffs with steep, short switchbacks - all with a backpack full of fuel, water and tools....SCAREY (people complain about the Exeter loop..HA!!!) I'm still sore! Kip Webb did a great job as team manager. Everything was setup, food fuel supplies. He had the logistics down pat! The Girls came in 7th with 121 points only 2 behind the Australians. I truly believe a first place would be realistically obtainable for the women. More practice and experience....next year maybe?? A big THANKS to everybody who supported Caroline, the team and helped make this happen!! Dave
