I'm not sure why Steve. I heard it used to be held in November and there was some benefit to it. It may have to do with scheduling or the rulebook.
If you don't get the schedule in early enough, there was a penalty fee with AMA.
...and the schedule won't make the AMA rag.
On the other hand, we always waited for the national schedule to come out first, so we wouldn't have an event on the same day.
So, either the national schedule is coming out in October, or we'll have scheduling changes later. It doesn't seem right to me. When I started with NETA in 1999, the meeting was in December, and this was always a problems with the holidays and traffic. When I was president, I suggested we do it after the holidays, and that went very well. Perhaps there is another, better reason for November, I'd like to know.
When did the newsletter come out??
