Is there any information available for your Turkey Run on Nov 9?  I am new to running NETRA events this year and so any info will be helpful.

Ross,

Its a good one. Lots of trail. Almost like an enduro. Just a few tougher/nasty spots bypassed. Lots of trail. Usually some eats after. A few spectator points. Lots of trail. All rideable, fun, somewhat technical trails. To finish has been a feat because there's.........lots of trail.

Thanks Rich.  If you think it's a good one, then that's all the endorsement I need.

Now I could use some event logistics and a maybe hotel recommendation.  Thanks, Ross

I missed the Thrill & Chill due to unanticipated issues (which thanks to Rich I got to help arrow part of the DS route), Noble Woods due to being sick, Ammonoosuc due to a schedule conflict, and then the Tri-State cancelled.  Fourth time's the charm???!!!  Hoping all aligns and Manray and I will be at the start on Sunday!!!    Rich, it will be good to see you and I'll wave as you ride off in front of me.

Seriously, I've been logging a pretty fair amount of trail time on the KLX which thanks to Manray has been modded with FMF pipe, re-jetted, Maxxis rear tire, and 13T sprocket.  Hopefully I will survive this event at least moderately intact!

p.s. any tips for the rookie would be appreciated!!!!

What time do most people finish up for the day?  Will I likely need a gas stop for an 08 250 xc-w(e)?

Thanks for pointing that out... I did read that, but with my limited TR experience (only ran this years Classic) I wasnt sure how to interpret Gas@Start."  Does that mean gas is available to purchase at the start?  Does the course loop through the start to get gas midway?  Can most bikes fill up at the starting line and make it to the end?  These options may seem ridiculous to someone whose run a bunch of TRs but since I havent, I kinda thought this would be the place to ask ;)  Im also curious what time most people get back to the trucks at the end of the loop(s).

no you must bring your own gas

yes

many bike can,but I wouldnt chance it since the turkey run loop comes right back through the start area and then goes out in a different direction

depends on what time you leave the parking are and what skill level you have, most guys get back around 2-4ish depending on how many "breaks" they take

I can think of a couple. With all this rain, it's gonna be slippery in some places. I would go with 14fr 12rr max tire pressure, to eek every bit of traction you can out of 'em. Also, if you haven't been thru the tubes b4, duck a little. The first one you go thru has a bunch of small/some larger stones, can be a little squirrely- take your time. The second one is clear, piece of cake.

There is a Cumberland Farms convenience store with gas less than 1/2 mile from the start location, so gas is available nearby the start.
