I was just thinking that I know a spot in Southern VT with about 500 acres for sale that is well within the price range even after legal expenses. It could be the Perpetual Red Fox Ride

This is a great day for organized trail riding.  Not just here in NewEng but nationally.  Thanks to the Pathfinders for sticking to their guns.  Thanks to the individuals that put in the time to make statements and travel to VT and everything that goes along with this victory.

The settlement could be the perfect kicker to get the trail sticker program off the ground.

This is great news about Red Fox!  Kudos to all who stuck with it and saw the process through.  Let's not forget in our thanks and enthusiasm those who helped fund, through contributions, the initial legal costs to get this off the ground.

YES, and those from VT that the AGs office spoke to!
As far as a press release, that will have to wait until the judge signs off. maybe 30 days or so...

It was very hard not to go into an enraged rant. "Just the facts, ma'am." LOL !

In regards to next years event, what is keeping them from making the law changes that started the whole thing?

IF we have the Red Fox TR in 2008 we will not let this happen again. if there is any sign of a problem we will not sanction the event!

I think this is awesome news and at this point a big Congrats goes out to all who made this happen.  It's not often that we get good news regarding Dirtbike events and this is a true milestone.  This is not just a victory for the Pathfinders this is a victory to all of us who ride offroad and on.

I hope this gets published all over the newspapers and gets plenty of coverage.  It would be nice for all to see.

Great to hear this news . Now hopefully we get some good press out of this ! It might even cause some of the other states that have been misappropriating funds from off road tax money , to rethink it's usage.

Great news.  No sign of any reports yet in either the Rutland Herald or the Brattleboro Reformer online editions.

Can I assume that this settlement includes the standard "no admission of wrongdoing" clause on the part of the Windham County Sheriff's Department?

I'm surprised they even let you make the settlement amount become public knowledge, generally they throw a contingency in that would keep it private. I guess that would kind of tricky though with so many people involved. This is some of the best news ever to come out of the dirt biking community! Congratulations!

I really don't like being stuck on twisties behind a pack of Harley riders. High five'n each other every time they make a corner at 14mph.

Brief article in the Brattleboro Reformer on 10/17 about the pending settlement.  The Jamaica Selectboard has no problem issuing public statements about the settlement prior to its being finalized, it seems.

PDF of article from Reformer web site

I saved the article as a PDF, since the Reformer web site only displays its articles for a short time before one has to pay to read them.

The reporter's math skills suck.  300 x $1,000 does NOT come to $3 million.
