Any news or updates? (It's been about six weeks since this thread was started.)

Has the attorney been paid hourly throughout the process?  Or will he be taking a significant piece of the settlement as a "contingency fee"?  Most attorneys do one or the other, but not BOTH, right?

What's the plan (if any yet) for the settlement?  Those participants who demanded refunds of their entry fees getting equal shares vs. those who contributed up front to the "legal fund"?

Hard questions to answer in public, I expect.  But I'm curious nevertheless.

Bill,  PAWS DOG will have all the full facts, but what we know so far is that the Pathfinders will have no discretion in how the funds are disbursed.  Because it was a class action, the judge will tell the Pathfinders exactly what to do.

What Fastlearner said... This past week I signed the official settlement document(I was the last to do so). This now goes for the Judges signature. All participants will be receiving a letter from our attorney with instructions on it for you.

And yes he get a big chunk of the settlement.

Yes all are included, some names are missing because they where signed up buy others. We have the number of people and a way to verify who they are. This was the only good thing about using Race listings. There will be a letter coming from our attorney and a add in a magazine (NETRA News) to pick up any stragglers.

I say use the $600k to help jail the scumbags at the Mass DCR for conspiracy and civil rights violations.

Thanks, but there will be no lump sum issued to us, or anyone else.  The suit was structured as a class action.  That means the judge decides how much $$$ each registered participant will get.

This $600K is earning INTEREST from the day of the agreement (back in September '07) to the day it's paid, right?

Just consider it as a chance to purchase low.
