not to be too much of a beotch but ....
trying to find information on trials events on the net is kind of a pain in the butt. it's out there but its scattered all over. If you go to the neta site there is no link to the ritc, once you find your way to the ritc site there doesn't seem to be a cover page for the event with basic info such as the time the event starts, classes being run etc etc. the neta site has a neat google maps link but once on the google site I could not figure out how to get directions, to calculate drive time to figure out what time to leave course I would need to know when the event starts, hmm where do I find that bit of info blah blah blah. the direction link looks like a google site problem (course I suck w/computers so maybe its me.) So now you gotta do more sluething on various websites to get a street name, back to google for directions etc. etc.
I realize that all the work is done by volunteers and I'm not one of them ... it would seem to me that if someone went onto the neta site to look at the schedule there might be a link to the club putting it on and once on the club site a link to basic event info like start times etc etc. (very basic info for noobs like start time and suggested arrival time to preride the loop to check out the sections before your 1st loop. paper work needed to sign up. Maybe even some info on how much time they have to ride the loops)you gotta remember people who know nothing about your sport may be looking to check it out. spending a 1/2 hour bouncing around several different websites trying to piece together the approriate info to try and figure out if they can attend works if they are really motivate but ...wouldn't getting onto the neta site, then clicking onto the schedule page, then clicking a link to the club sponsoring the event and getting onto an event page that gave location (maybe a link to mapquest etc, not required of course) with enough info to at least mapquest it yourself. start time, fees, memberships required etc etc. work a little bit better. The easier you make it for someone to do something the more likely they are to do it. The easier it is to get info on your event the more more likely a noob will show up ..especially if its the night before and they are up in the air about wether or not to hit it.
Just a thought ....
umm btw what time does the event a the berry farm start?? after meriden I'm guessing 11 a.m. is the standard start time ....correct??
