Wow, that's horrible.  Let's hope it's no later than June 1 this year.

Johnny1Eye -> RE: HopEv conditions (4/27/2008 4:40:53 PM)

IT WILL BE MAY 23RD THIS YEAR. [:D]

heh, we are past the big flood time....  Ya know, huge amounts of rain over a week or 2, when there is still alot of snow further north.  The rivers around here are way down now.

Anyways,  Friday May 23rd.  6am (right Jim?) Hop-Ev parking lot. I will be in a Green Mazda PU with a new 200 XC in the back.

Who else is going?

      I sure hope you are right....and that you didn't just jinx us! There was no snow left two years ago when we had the "Mother's Day Flood", I had just finished helping some friends plant 100 acres of corn and spent much of the evening leading up to the flood helping to re-paint the trail map for Hop-Ev, had to take several detours to get home that night because of flooding. I got to spend part of the next day crossing one of those corn fields in a power boat to see if everyone had evacuated, launched a pontoon boat on a paved road and motored up to someone else's front porch to evacuate him. Once the water receded we did spend the rest of the summer getting the Hop-Ev trails ridable again, opened just after Labor Day.

MVTR -> RE: HopEv conditions (4/28/2008 5:14:41 PM)

Only foot traffic allowed in the park until May 23rd.
Not even mountain bikes are allowed.

dgagnon -> RE: HopEv conditions (5/14/2008 11:39:59 AM)

Does anyone know if we are still on track for a 5/23 opening? Any work parties being planned? I can't attend the MVTR Wednedsday meetings until my kids baseball and softball seasons end (July) since I coach. I can help with work parties if they are on Sunday's.
Thx!

From what I remember from last meeting.  Army Corps is in there checking out trails.  Water level only rose 10' above normal so the only thing that should need to be done is clearing any blow downs from the winter.
