Well I'm exhausted and feeling sickly; due to the heat,  however, with much help from some key Rhody Rovers we finished the Route sheet today.  Some of the really tough stuff was eliminated with advice of our veteran members; some comments were "this sh*t ain't ridable" and "your going to make alot of enemies".  That being said; during the event, early in the day we have doulbed our mileage in one of our best riding areas.  The afternoon ride has two completely new sections that have never been run for our enduro.  The AA's, A's and B's will see both of these areas and the C's will have a challenging ride in only one of them.  I am sure there may be some adjustments; however a basic break down reads like this.

AA, A, B riders should expect approx. 76 ground miles.
C-riders will by pass two sections and ride approx. 62 ground miles.
Official Gas will be at the Start; However a Gas Available will exist w/ a spectator point.
We are trying to set up sponsor's for a cash awards for the fastest rider through a given section for ALL classes.
After the event there will be TONS of dirt bike related give aways during the trophy presentations.
Food will be available at the event all day.

Pre-entries are rolling in very early, and the drawing for starting lines will be held promptly on 6/23/08!
Remember AMA rules, so anyone wishing to ride with their buddies all day should staple entries together.

Remember the Key Time posted; Is the time that will be used.  Double check this time the day of the event.

http://www.time.gov/timezone.cgi?Eastern/d/-5/java

Although no promises, I hope to post Resets, Speeds, and starting numbers here before the event.

Special Thanks For todays work goes out to;
Neill Adler          Rich Seymour
Mike Costa        Pete Tanner
Chris Ludwig      Dave Levesque
Mike DeCiantis   And Especially Jack Hendrick for donating his tractor and time to clear some land!

I was glad to help today Paul, very happy to be able to add a new section to an already great enduro.

If you agree to allow that name for the section next year then you must approve my name fitting trail.

Mike,

You guys have done a ton of work in there. IMO the course as set will be a huge asset to the event. I was thinking something like "Stomping Stones Trail" or even "welcome to hell" but I think it would be appropraite to name the entire section "Mikezberg". No one will say it was too easy. I promise.

Thanks Rich for your help today making the A/B section more "rideable". I tend to get a little carried away sometimes making trails way too tight. I agree that the way this section is set now it will be a huge asset to the event while it helps seperate the men from the boys.

Well I`m sure the 3mph speed change for this section should stop the A`s from losing too much time.

This event is going to be AWESOME!!! A great group of guys showed up this AM in the pouring rain to cut 5 miles of brand new single track.  It combines jersey tight stick farm trail,  BTR mossy rock, but mostly fast flowing wide open trail.

This section brings the new trail, new section count up to 20 miles.  What that means is this event will now show up 20 miles of trail in RI that either never has had a NETRA event on or that is fresh cut new.  That combined with trails and sections we have use in the past means a great day for all abilities.

Looking for ideas for a NETRA club award.  Let's say the Rhody Rovers offers up a GREAT prize for the fastest club.  How much interest would there be?  I would like to see a direct competition between the great bunch of guys I have met at NETRA enduros over the last five years of my involvement.  (BTR, CT Ramblers, MVTR, SRCR, Pilgrim Sands, Seacoast)

You  guys can brainstorm and come up with the criteria and the RR's will announce the prize and tally the results!  But more than anything lets get everyone out of the woodwork for this event.

Lastly;  PT (moosem1)has been in discussion w/ some people for some VERY special coverage of this event.  If it gels details will be announced here late this coming week!

Thanks again to; Pete, Rich, Alex, Robert, Micheal, Mike, Charlie, and Layne for this weeks work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I could not do it with out all your help.

Don`t forget Chris L. He and I fixed some stuff in the A/B section and the new singletrack area towards the end of the loop at SS. We worked in the rain then when it stopped we rode to burn in these sections.

No B.S. There is quite a bit of new stuff out here, especially for A & Bs. The C's will be well tested at the end of the ride and the new stuff I saw today for the A/B section is going to be a blast! Good, quality, raceable terrain with all the fixin's.

The really good part is, we aren't quite done with new trail for this year and we are already planning to increase things for next year with more room at some new locations and a couple more sections that have been on the back burner.

The scary side; we have a new enemy in the way of a town official who obviously isn't a dirtbike advocate. I know it sounds like a broken record, but quiet, slow, respectful transfer sections are critical to our argument that we are an asset to the community. You guys need to do your part in this area.

As always thanks to everyone that has helped out;  the problem w/ thanking individuals is that someone gets missed. Thanks Baron and Mike for the SS work.

Route Sheet is done and it will be proofed this week w/ a long ride

Less than two weeks to go!! Pre-entries are rolling in,  remember I plan on doing the drawing for pre-entries one WEEK from today!

Last year we had a ton of enduro newbies come out and ride w/ there buddies all day,  who's planning on making this event?

Another thought for public consumption;  If anyone is available for the day and not riding I need help w/ check crews.  The club offers free lunch and you can join us for some ice cold refreshments also.

I Definatly will be there. When a club puts in this much effort into an event (as you guys have for the 5 years I've been riding it) its hard to miss it. Keep up the good work guys and we at BTR hope to extend the same sort of effort for you RR guys to enjoy coming in September. Pre-Entry should go out tomorrow or Thursday!

I'll see if I can make it but no guarantees. My wife should be working so maybe I can sneak away from my house remodling duties

Paul, I'll either come out with some other Ramblers or ride a street bike out. Either way I should be available to work a check. You guys always put on a class event, see you then.
