Yes,  Usual protocall is to meet at the mcdonalds at the Alton Traffic circle off of rte 28 at 8AM.  See Rocky mountian Enduro thread for specific directions. I can not remember the name of the road.  Maybe someone else with the club will chime in.

They've been making snow on Pat's Peak all day.
19 degrees now...snow on the ground this morning here.

The ground must be hard in Clough...but probably great traction.

my experience with frozen ground and knobbies has been the exact opposite ... frozen ground plus knobbies = riding on ice. it's been quite sometime since I've done it so maybe the rubber is different these days. that said I have ridden my trials bike on frozen gound many times. the rubber on trials tires works very well on frozen ground. I've often wondered if you got a snowless winter how it would be to go out there with trials tires front and back on your dirtbike. i think your biggest worry would be leaf covered trail. The sun creates a freeze thaw thing with leaves and you can get a mini ice slick under them. all that said ...  they do make studs specifically for bare frozen ground!!

generally when it gets this cold .. its time to go skiing. That said if I had the right gear and it was a snowless winter and you could ride with some degree of predictability as far as traction went. I might be into it. Snowless is key .. snowless means you can get out there in the afternoon and ride when it is warmest. Unlike snow covered sled trails where you have to get out there at the crack of dawn and ride when it is coldest before things warm up and it goes to mush.

inch and a half of ice is perfect conditions.  Couple years ago the beginning of winter was like that here.  Riding was the most incredible time.  Pulling wheelies up frozen streams and having all the snowmobile trails to myself was heaven.  Even still, if when the trails are groomed and iced over, give me my bike over my sled anyday.  Pulling 4th gear through snow coverd corners is just incredible.

Clough this afternoon to break in my new to me 02 CR125.  Not sure how many trails I'll be hitting but should be fun as long as it doesn't blow up with the cold weather.

It went really well.  No wonder there was spooge all over the bike when I got it.  It's now ported and the head has been modified but it was running a perfect tan on top-end when I checked a few time. The bike was running a bit lean right off the bottom of the needle but a clip adjustment helped a lot.  Now I think 1 up on the pilot  to get the air screw more than a 1/2 turn out.

I really couldn't believe how quick this bike was, just hard to keep it on the pipe and in control.  Should be a hoot on a mototrack.  Went up hang glider hill no problem, seems to be a pretty good pull in the mid-range when riding just below the hit and then it's just a clutch stabb away from huge power band the likes I have not ridden ever before.  Almost to insane to ride at clough.
