I don't know maybe 9:00.  I just saw the weather.  Nashua area 3-6 and a dusting around Clough.  The snow should be hitting us between 11-12.

Hell, I had a fish cop complain they can't see the sticker on top of my fenders so... I 'll put it where I see fit ! Don't like it I just won't reg my bikes anymore!

jimmcc -> RE: The winter ride thread (2/9/2010 2:22:55 PM)

I'm planning to go to Cough this saturday or sunday or both.
Haven't been on the bike since the Crossroads scramble.

It should be in the 30s...hopefully it won't get too sloppy.

too many bikes mike -> RE: The winter ride thread (2/9/2010 4:45:35 PM)

We went today. Got there around 11. It was fantastic!  We hit the river loop first and it was like someone paved it and took out all the bumps. As the day went on and the temp went up things got a little soft. We tried BT later on and it was a bit soft. Then we hit some of  the faster trails and I couldnt believe the speeds  compared to the summer in the same spots! Awsome ride.

Anyone up for a ride Thursday-Friday.  Couldn't fit riding into today.

jimmcc -> RE: The winter ride thread (2/12/2010 12:39:43 PM)

anybody riding at Clough tomorrow?

jimmcc -> RE: The winter ride thread (2/13/2010 4:46:44 PM)

Rode at Clough today...the conditions are fantastic...you can fly on sugar hill and bassett mill.
BT is a bit more of a workout.

Johnny1Eye -> RE: The winter ride thread (2/13/2010 5:43:13 PM)

Come on now... tell me you didn't ride through the BT rockgarden WAY faster than you ever thought was possible!

jimmcc -> RE: The winter ride thread (2/13/2010 7:02:39 PM)

what rock garden?

It just wasn't there...like Gary said,,,3rd gear straight through.
Never did that in the summer.

Stark Pond was also very fast...but some of the whoops past the open area are still soft and I almost pegged a tree.

I'm going back tomorrow.

They were hooking up great today...got great traction over a big log...figure the rear end might slide a bit as I went over...instead it grabbed and I launched away from it.

crf -> RE: The winter ride thread (2/13/2010 11:31:32 PM)

Art -> RE: The winter ride thread (2/14/2010 1:13:51 PM)

went for a quick trip around the park today, river loop and BT trail were a fun workout.

Brian VT -> RE: The winter ride thread (2/14/2010 3:12:50 PM)

1st time out for me this year. Lots of fun.
Too low on the mountain was dirt/rocks. Too high was deep snow. We found enough in the middle to have fun.
Rode on a pond for the 1st time. One of our riders [8|] got a little too happy and had a nice tank slapper. Ice is hard. LOL.

Molti -> RE: The winter ride thread (2/18/2010 11:20:42 AM)

FYI~

"We just received notice that the Stark Brook Bridge will be barricaded tomorrow (Thursday) and thus closed to all vehicular traffic.  The bridge has structural deficiencies and will be closed indefinitely.  All traffic to the Stark Pond Trailhead will now have to go in via Route 77 to Ray Road.  We’ll be working with DOT and the town to have the signage moved and also to look at what additional signage will be necessary for those who approach the now “old” access route via Winslow Road.  This effectively closes off Mansion Road as well.  It’s unclear at this time weather the gate at Winslow Road/Stark Lane will be kept closed or open.  We’ll likely put out a press release tomorrow with this notice.  Please pass the word on."

jimmcc -> RE: The winter ride thread (2/18/2010 12:25:34 PM)

There was a bridge closing sign up last week for 2/18...today.

I received an email from the BoT regarding the bridge being closed indefinitely.

Johnny1Eye -> RE: The winter ride thread (2/18/2010 6:01:14 PM)

That just made my ride to clough a lot longer...   Are they talking about right next to the small damn, just before you get to the lot?

skid Jackson -> RE: The winter ride thread (2/18/2010 7:56:55 PM)

yes .... the way 99% of the traffic gets into the park ...my guess is that people will start parking on the access road instead of going up and around and down ray road. any way to get an engineering report on why they closed it?? If they keep up the metal gates on the access rd it will turn the road into a drag strip
