This is a bill being presented in CT to increase fines. It looks like most of the people testifying are anti's. We need to get more active and more vocal. For you people who live in North Haven, your state rep is one of the anti's - something to keep in mind come election time.
And for you people from Griswold, Lisbon, Plainfield, and Voluntown, rumour has it Democrat Steve Mikutel is a sheep in wolf's clothing to be on the watch for.

This link takes you to the letters that were presented either for or against the bill.

I grew up in North Haven, and there was never a shortage of riding spots. We had rices sandpits, Tollies and the railroad tracks, Cyanamid toxic dumping grounds (heck we used to power our smokers with touline in 55 gallon drums leaking about when fuel got low. Nobody said boo and we tread lightly. Now there are DEP signs just about every nook and cranny with threatning fines, even full roads that were washed out by the connecticut river over 30 years ago, taking houses and property were never redeveloped
and those signs are more then an eyesore then the 100s of dollars spend to block off the land and do literally nothing with it. Its a shame what everything has become in this town, But our house is still getting pelted with HANDGUN bullets from hunting season, I dug out a .380ACP from the side of the house this feb.. We still allow hunting and the toxic grounds are still cordoned off with barbed wire, and im sure all the glass jars with the honey looking stuff is still buried under all that sand. 30 years later and I don't have an extra arm, or cancer yet... But I can't ride in my old "hood" with my kid and still dodging bullets.

I was thinking of moving back to CT after living in FL for 10 years but after reading about how strict the riding is this scares me. I live in a very populated area in PALM BEACH COUNTY FLORIDA but I still have at least 2 small spots to ride within a 5 minute trip. Nothing special but at least the cops don't bother you. When I was a kid my father used to take me to a few spots in New Haven County Ct but from what I hear they are even more strict than before. I am new to this Forum is there any legal or decent spots to ride around CT? I am moving in three months and this is my main concern about moving back up north.
