Anyone wanting to check but not sure about the rules, review them here:  http://www.newenglandtrials.org/2010_NETA_RULEBOOK.pdf   and post your questions. There will be a review and time for questions before the event!

http://www.newenglandtrials.org/2010_NETA_RULEBOOK.pdf

Section XI, page 13 has the scoring method.

It means we need more event workers. Click on above link if you don't know how to score already. Love to have you. We plan to have a BBQ aftah the event for the workers. But, better than that, you get all the glory of having worked the best Observed Trials event in New England!!

FYI:
Dan and I talked to Ron V., the owner of half the land we ride on.
He is unhappy about the 4-wheelers digging up the road and turning small puddles into swamps.
However, he was very happy that we came to see him and has no problem with us.
He has appointed me 'custodian' and said that he doesn't want anyone on his land unless I am there and I have to call him every time we want to ride there. He is going to monitor us for a while and see how we do.
I think we should make a special effort to stay out of the mud and avoid the areas prone to erosion.
After a while, I'm sure he'll say I don't have to call him, as long as all goes well.

My sisters land is still in a state of flux. She wants to sell some, but nothing definite yet. We are welcomed to ride there until that changes.
Her rules are simple. She wants to know who's out there, and respect the land. I don't have to be there, but she wants to know about it. So, if you want to ride when I am not there, let me know and I'll talk to her to be sure it's OK. It shouldn't be a problem. As long as we respect the land and pick up our trash, we shouldn't have a problem.
If you want to help her by way of donation, she can always use more firewood, if you have any that you don't need.

I am looking for a volunteer to mow the field before the event. If anyone has the equipment and can do it, please let me know.
Thanks,
Jareth

Hey all,
We met with Ron again and he is very pleased with our professional attitude with calling him and keeping him informed. He came out to look at where we're riding and doesn't have any problem with us. His eyes about popped out of his head when he saw Joe go up a 6 foot rock! He said "If you told me you could ride up that rock, I wouldn't have believed it. That is amazing!". He is really looking forward to seeing the event! We have the OK to hold the event on his land along with my sister and nieces land as before. This should be our best event ever!! All trails are cut back and wide enough for passing, all but a few sections are completely new, and the ones that have been used before (4 years ago) are so different, you won't even recognize them. We are making a separate loop for the beginners, I mean Rook's and the 2 yutes. We're mowing the field with a push mower, a few square feet every weekend, should be done by August!!

The rules are the same, Ron wants me to call him and wants me to be present when anyone is out there. My sister doesn't mind who rides there, as long as she knows first. Call me or her to let her know before hand if you want to go sometime without me or a scheduled ride.

My sister is going to log some of her land, but will try not to disrupt our stuff that is all ready already, but I'm sure there will be some last minute clean-up details.

Victor Larppierre is claiming a 18 acre chunk of land in the Northwest corner of things, but it shouldn't pose a problem, we'll just go around that area until they settle that little dispute.

Look forward to see everyone there!
Jareth
