I suspect the TM would stick with the checker's decision - better to be safe and ask first. The intent has always been for gates to be ridden in one direction as far as I know.

To add more confusion, It appears if you break the plane of your gate with your front axle, It is considered that you have passed through that gate as in A xv.

Yeah, I thought that did make things confusing too. Now we have to watch front axles. Why not just let us float over a gate the same as a ribbon? It just makes it more complicated than it needs to be.
