husabob -> Berwick Trials (8/21/2010 6:51:45 PM)

Thanks to Jareth and crew for a great trials. I am still nursing a sore hand from the two day Vintage Off Road Festival in Ormstown, Quebec last weekend, but I still managed to have four clean loops on my TLR200! I believe Steve Christensen, also riding a TLR200, also had perfect day! Steve is, um, my senior, so he wins... Congrats Steve. Whether or not a "ride off" was in order is moot; I had to leave for some spousal quality time at another event. I'm sure we can all rleate.
Parking was a bit tight, and I thought I had put my bike stand close to the back of my blue Murano, but when I returned from my first loop, I found my stand had been run into by someone, then tossed under my carrier. Whoever trashed my stand, I apologise for apparently leaving it in your way. There was oil on it, so you might wanna check your vehicle for damage. If I can repair it, I'll be sure to paint it a bright color! Ride Safe(ly), Bob B

Thanks to Jareth and crew for a great trials. Bob B

You are more than welcome. I can ride by myself, but if no one shows for the event, I would never be able to do another....so thanks to you, and the 65 folks who were kind enough to make the trek to Maine and eat dust all day!
Hope to see you soon, Feet up!
Jareth

Jareth,
   Thanks to you and your team for putting on a fun event. It was obvious alot of hard work went into it. I'm hoping to copy some of the excellent loop & section signage that was used for your event.

Thanks again,

Tommy B.

steve t -> RE: Berwick Trials (8/22/2010 3:36:13 PM)

Nice job Jareth and crew. Good job clearing and detailing the sections. The A line had multiple lines which makes it interesting. The loop was fun to ride and the sections nicely spaced. Hope you have another one next year.

Steve

Thanks.
It was a lot of work, but it was a labor of love, so it was worth it!

Great job Jareth....you guys did great!

That ride off was pretty cool. That bunch of guys from the Sen B class are so solid on the bikes...nerves of steel. Good job to all of them.

Pass along my thanks also to the food vendor that was there, they were quite accommodating to the workers.

Thanks, Steve. I'm absolutely neurotic about branches in my face and riding over crap on the trail.

This was my goal, I'm happy that you appreciated it.

I love a good loop, it rates right up there with breakfast in bed!
Section spacing was partially on purpose and partly luck!

I hope to also. If I can collect unemployment for another year, no problem. If I end up on the road again, I just won't have the time. That's why I didn't do it the last 2 years. I have been working on this, with the help of friends, more and less, each week, since March. I am going to try to ride the rest of the year and do less work! I'll start working on the next event in January.

Yeah, ride offs can be fun, especially for the spectators. After riding all day, the riders get to watch a little bit. The only problem is it can make a long day for those with long drives.

That was Sonny's Brother-in-law. Sonny and Dan covered the costs. I'll pass along your thanks when I see them!

Gord -> RE: Berwick Trials (8/22/2010 8:46:46 PM)

Had a great time Jareth. Vintage friendly, with seven Vintage riders!! I think that's the largest group we've had since I've been involved. And also the first ride off I've been to. That was a lot of fun to watch. A Yamaha and a Suzuki battling it out in a Modern section. Lot's of first's up there in Maine this Saturday!

How did things go today with the Enduro? I see Bobbitt won and Cory Buttrick came in 6th. I competed with Cory in Ohio this past July, in Vintage Trials. He came in 2nd and I came in 3rd in the Vintage Old School class. (Cory was also on a Penton).

Looking forward to another event up in Maine.

The Enduro was a blast too. Me an two friends on trials bikes jumped on the trail for a while and had no problem passing the enduro bikes. A trials bike is clearly a superior machine on that nasty, tight, rocky single track, if you don't run out of gas!!

Thanks goes to Dan Williams for all the arrows and signs, he did a great job!
He posted PDF versions on NewEnglandTrials.org if you want to download them.

Almost forgot to give credit to Sonny for all the water and soda that was donated.
Thanks, Sonny!
